Last week at the height of Kadayawan festivity, I decided to visit Museo Dabawenyo for the second time around. Seeing a variety of indigenous works displayed in the museum is a scenery that made want to even stay at the place for a longer time. While browsing the works of Anoy Catague, I was approached by these three familiar people and a female voice said in vernacular, "Hoy, gauno kaw ngadi, ama kaw lagi nang turista!!" ("Hey, what are you doing here? you look like a tourist"), I was surprised to see that they were actually my high school friends who also took time to visit the place. We immediately get into the conversation about what happedned to us lately.
These three people I'm refering to were Mae wearing a pink shirt with a white strap, Rajiv in his Polo shirt much like a politico and Kiki in Red polka dots shirt. Mae just graduated in college and is busy in her school requirements. Rajiv is a cousin and is planning to go back in college. Kiki, a kababayan in Brgy. Taytayan is here in Davao for a job stint. Anyways, a forty-five minute tour around the museum is enough for us. Rajiv then told us to be off somewhere where we can eat a good hearty meal. He keep on saying about "Watermelon dessert". And that made me figure it out!
Going to Rizal Park, we passed on this huge landmark fronting the city hall, a local symbol that truly makes a dabawenyo (Davao local) takes pride of. in just ten minutes, we alreay reached Merco Restaurant and find ourselves comfortably waiting for that Watermelon delight that Rajiv craves for.
and now, let us all welcome, "the Watermelon delight with ice cream toppings" Cheap and affordable and will definitely satisfy your hungry stomachs. Mmm, this actualy taste good and it is really a good dessert for everybody. Back from my mind, I even think of having it as a dinner because, it is just so fresh and a healthy treat.
After devouring it like a T-Rex, all it went was like this. Look at it. Even the pancake we ordered wasn't touched, worse, poor pancake only left unnoticed. I will definitely have another one the next time I visit Merco.
